Nouvex, development studio. Where frontend and backend meet.
We design and build web applications and apps for iOS and Android, from the interface down to the API behind it. GGS Network runs the servers underneath.
Studio One team for both sides.
Frontend and backend are built at the same table here. What the interface needs, the API provides, and the other way round.
Interfaces
React and Next.js on the web, Expo and React Native for iOS and Android, built accessibly and fast on every device.
APIs
TypeScript down to the database, with contracts shared by web, server and background services.
Operations
GGS Network runs the infrastructure: servers, monitoring and updates in Germany.
Stack Web, Expo apps and everything in between.
How we work
A small studio that builds the interface and the API from one hand and leaves operations to a partner that does nothing else.
From one hand
Web and apps
Web applications with React and Next.js, apps for iOS and Android with Expo. Whatever the interface needs, the same hand provides at the API.
Nouvex Mail and KCity
Own products
What Nouvex builds for others it also builds for itself: a mail client for every mailbox and a journey planner for Karlsruhe, both in development.
AGPL-3.0
Open code
Nouvex Mail is open source: server, engine and apps under AGPL-3.0, SDK and components under Apache-2.0. Anyone who wants to can run the server themselves.
GGS Network
Infrastructure
Hosting and operations are with GGS Network, in data centres in Germany. Nouvex designs and builds, GGS keeps it running.
Nouvex Mail: one inbox for every account
In development: an open-source mail client. A sync engine in Go keeps every IMAP account up to date on your own server, the apps on the web, iPhone, iPad and Mac read from there, and stored messages are sealed for their owner.
Stored encrypted
Every message with its own key, sealed for its owner
Sealed storage
Web and Apple
One inbox on the web, iPhone, iPad and Mac, Android planned
Web app and Apple apps
AGPL-3.0
Server, engine and apps open source, SDK and components under Apache-2.0

Stack and specificationKCity: departures and connections in Karlsruhe
In development: a quiet departure monitor and journey planner for the Karlsruhe transport network. Departures, journeys, lines and disruptions without an account, the data from the network's open interfaces.
Every 20 seconds
A stop's board arrives as a live stream, no reloading
Departure board
No account
Departures, journeys, lines and disruptions without signing in and without tracking
Public interface
Open data
The KVV timetable data under CC0, departures from the open information system

Stack and specificationWhere frontend meets backend.
Code that scales.
From the idea to launch.
How we work.
Four steps that repeat for as long as a project lives.
Design
Design
We work out what is needed and sketch it before a line of code exists.
Build
Build
Frontend and backend grow together, in small steps you can try out.
Launch
Launch
The application moves onto GGS Network's infrastructure and is monitored from day one.
Further development
Further development
After launch the work goes on: bugs get fixed, dependencies stay current, requests get built.
